California Casual
GeorgetownThe clients, a couple with two young children and a dog, purchased this home in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC upon moving here from California. In the initial interview with FORMA Design, they emphasized the fact that they had a casual lifestyle, that all areas of the house needed to be child friendly and accessible, and that they loved and missed the bright and relaxed home they left behind in LA. They hoped, with minor architectural modifications, to be able to transform the house so it maximized the light, had bright surfaces and furniture throughout and allowed for a generous and efficient multi-family kitchen/eating/study area opening to the back patio, while respecting the existing architecture and personality of the home. The family and Auggie, the dog, are happy in their new Georgetown digs!
